AS4EU project is near to conclude and will enable data interchange in compliance with the European Regulation

Four PEPPOL Access Points integrating the AS4 protocol were implemented due to the successful performance of the AS4EU project. These Points will enable the participating technological companies (specialized in EDI) to offer their services in compliance with the eIDAS Regulation. S.A.T.A. from Italy; Celtrino from Ireland; Interchange from UK and AdValvas from Belgium are the companies taking part in the AS4EU project, coordinated by the Universitat Politècnica de València and with LMT Group collaborating with the technical support in the implementation.
The Access Point´s implementation integrated the AS4 communication protocol, as well as the corresponding SML (Service Metadata Locator) and SMP (Service Metadata Publisher). The final result will allow the several client companies from the participant enterprises to access the latest version of the protocol for electronic data interchange. The European Commission announced in 2016 the mandatory transition for PEPPOL Access Points from the AS2 to the AS4 protocol.
AS4EU was a project co-financed by the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) of the European Commission, through the eDelivery CEF-TC-2017-2 Call and will be officially concluded on March 31st. The eDelivery Building Block, in which under the project was granted, seeks for a safe and reliable data interchange in between European Union countries.
