Next February 27th a workshop will be held in Valencia about the project “CONNECTING PUBLIC SERVICES TO THE SPANISH eIDAS NODE”, which is coordinated by RED.ES Entidad Pública Empresarial and participated by different entities collaborating to connect the electronic public services to the Spanish eIDAS node.
The objective of the project is to allow EU citizens to access to public services in Spain, through the interconnection of these services with the Spanish eIDAS node. This project has involved the integration of services by the national Government, regional and local Governments, and universities, based on the existence of the Cl@ve system, a national electronic identity gateway that provides users with different authentication methods of electronic identity. Currently, access to external electronic identification is achieved through the STORK platform, with the intention of replacing it with the eIDAS platform.
The city council of Valencia, through the SERTIC (Information and Communication Technology Service) and Las Naves Foundation, organize a seminar to inform other interested entities of the importance of the eIDAS Regulation and to explain the purpose of the project and the process followed by Valencia for the connection to the eIDAS node. It is also intended to open debate on the next steps to be developed. In addition, the bases of the European Union CEF Telecom instrument, that offers funding to facilitate cross-border interaction between public administrations, companies and citizens, through the deployment of digital services infrastructures and broadband networks, will be also detailed.
The agenda of the workshop will be as follows:
- 9:30 – 9:45: Welcome and introduction of the attendees (Gema Roig, Fundación Las Naves Ayuntamiento de Valencia).
- 9:45 – 10:15: Brief Introduction to the European regulation on eIDAS and explanation of the project (Aleida Alcaide, Area Chief of the General Secretariat of Digital Administration of the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration, will be connected through video conference).
- 10:15 – 10:45: Valencia City Council project development (Pedro Belenguer, SERTIC Valencia City Council).
- 10:45 – 11:00: Debate among workshop attendees on the next steps for the integration of electronic public services with the eIDAS platform (selection of the common electronic identity form, for example through the NIE, etc.) (Moderated by Jose Rocha, Leading Management Technology SL).
- 11:00 – 11:30: CEF Telecom European Union financing program (Jose Rocha, Leading Management Technology S.L.).
The workshop will be held in the “Think Tank” room of Las Naves building, Juan Verdeguer 16, 46023 Valencia.
