The eIDAS Regulation

The eIDAS Regulation

August 18th, 2017

The eIDAS Regulation ensures that European citizens and businesses can use their own national electronic identification schemes (eIDs) to access to public services in other EU countries where eIDs are available.

It also creates a European internal market for eTS (namely electronic signatures), electronic seals, time stamps, electronic delivery services and website authentication – by ensuring that they will work across borders and have the same legal status as traditional paper based processes. Only by providing certainty on the legal validity of all these services, businesses and citizens will use the digital interactions as their natural way of interaction.

The project “Connecting public services to the Spanish eIDAS node“, in which LMT participates, supports the participating Spanish entities to meet the eIDAS Regulation requirements. This Action will also facilitate access to Spanish public e-services for all EU citizens and businesses, strenghening the Digital Single Market.
