EUROFACe enables electronic invoicing reception for public administration entities
March 06th, 2019
FACe, the central electronic invoicing platform of the Spanish government, is finally in compliance with the requirements of the Directive 2014/55/EU issued by the European Parliament. Through the EUROFACe project, the required syntaxes to enable bidirectional translation were integrated, allowing the interchange of electronic invoices in between the participant Spanish public authorities and other European entities.
EUROFACe was developed by a consortium composed of a diversity of entities, including Ministerio de Hacienda y Función Pública (Spanish Ministry of Finance) and different local and regional public administrations coordinated by Universidad de Zaragoza. Project´s technical implementation had the support of two technological companies: Invinet Sistemes and LMT Group.
The project, which concluded in February 2019, was performed through various activities, such as coordination, legal and technical requirements analysis, and conformance tests. Furthermore, it upgraded the FACe portal in order to enable any Spanish public administration entity to receive electronic invoices and comply with the Directive 2014/55/EU.
EUROFACe was co-financed by the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) of the European Commission, through the CEF-TC-2016-3 Call, that seeks for the standardization of electronic invoice issuing and reception, facilitating cross-border transactions across the European Union.
