After several months of constant labour, the public administrations of the eID4Spain consortium are now connected to Spanish eIDAS node. With this activity completed, the beneficiaries can begin the testing and, once these completed, go live with their eID platforms.
Junta de Extremadura, Diputación Provincial de Ciudad Real, Diputació de València, and Ayuntamiento de Rivas Vaciamadrid gathered all the necessary requirements to deploy the technical stage of the eID4Spain Action. After tested and completed, the eID platforms of these entities will be connected to the 2.0 version of CL@VE, the eID public service offered by the national Spanish government to their citizens and residents. The regional and local administrations will also be aligned with the eIDAS regulation, taking a step further for the unification of electronic procedures in the EU.
The platforms of these beneficiaries will be able to receive and process data from the Spanish node, related to the authentication of European citizens with electronic IDs issued in their countries. This represents a boost for cross-border efficiency when doing bureaucratic procedures for both Spanish citizens and other EU residents that require administrative procedures within the Spanish government.
