The EUROLogin project is close to the end

The EUROLogin action (Cross-border authentication in European cloud platforms according to the eIDAS Regulation), co-financed by the European Commission through its Innovation and Networks Executive Agency – INEA and under the CEF Telecom program (Action number 2018-EU-IA-0026), finishes on 31st March 2021.

Coordinated by Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain) and with LMT Group (Spain) as the technical manager, the project’s consortium, made up of the partners BILLIT BVBA (Belgium), AC Goldman Solutions & Services, GSS Ltd (Cyprus), S.A.T.A. Applicazione Tecnologie Avanzate Srl (Italy), Elcom Systems Limited (United Kingdom) and University of Cyprus (Cyprus), has worked to prepare the integration of the eID DSI (Digital Service Infrastructure) into their systems and the connection to their respective national eIDAS node, aligned with the eIDAS Regulation (Regulation (EU) No 910/2014).

In this sense, the work developed through this action has been ground-breaking and it has gone one step further in the purpose of fostering the eID Building Block (helping to properly deploy the Digital Single Market in the EU). EUROLogin has promoted the update and integration of, not only public but also private, European cloud platforms in the eIDAS network, what will allow the secure and reliable authentication of European users, using their national eID, into the electronic services of both public and private entities, and will improve the cross-border interaction between administrations, companies and citizens. At this moment, the foundations have been laid, the implementation in Cyprus has been fully completed, Billit (Belgium) is connected to QA environment and the Belgian national government has just approved the legal context for private entities (see this news) and lastly, the implementation in Italy and UK is waiting for their national eIDAS node to support the connection to the production environment.
