The Cypriot partners of Eurologin have implemented their eID solution with success

We are glad to announce that the implementation carried out by the Cypriot beneficiaries of the Eurologin Consortium has concluded with great success. In this way, the eID DSI has been correctly integrated by the EDI Provider Goldman into the University of Cyprus’ system, that is now connected to the Cypriot eIDAS node under the eIDAS Regulation, making its Erasmus Students Identification service available for cross-border authentication in a production environment; in fact it is currently working properly for 5 European countries, namely Croatia, Czech Republic, Italy, Portugal and Slovakia. So, and as a result of this implementation, this public university is now able to request, receive and process the identification data received from the eIDAS node, what undoubtedly makes easier the access to the Erasmus Students Identification service to students, who have now the possibility to identify themselves at the University site using their own national eID; promoting the cross-border mobility and supporting the deployment of the Digital Single Market in the EU. After the technical implementation process, some eIdentification tests have been performed by different foreign European citizens in order to prove the University of Cyprus’ conformance, providing the relevant evidence and finally going live with a working eID solution.

The EUROLogin Action (Cross-border authentication in European cloud platforms according to the eIDAS Regulation), coordinated by Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain) and technically managed by LMT Group (Spain), that contributes to the deployment of the eID Building Block by using the eIDAS nodes network and promoting the interoperability among these nodes is finishing at the end of March 2021.
