The participants of the eID4Spain Action, which seeks to connect the public e-services provided by them -as local and/or regional authorities- to the Spanish eIDAS node via the platform Cl@ve 2.0, have concluded the analysis phase, also completing their solution design.
Junta de Extremadura, Diputación de Ciudad Real, Diputació de València, and Ayuntamiento de Rivas Vaciamadrid are the public entities involved in the connection of their services to Cl@ve 2.0, a system provided by the national Spanish government that allows citizens and residents to electronically identify themselves when doing public administration-related procedures.
Through the Cl@ve platform, Spanish citizens and residents can use their electronic National Identity to present taxes, require a medical appointment, or do migration administrative procedures remotely, amongst many other benefits when requiring and using their eID.
eID4Spain participants are already connected to Cl@ve but after the conclusion of this project, they will have updated their eID platform to the 2.0 version, connected to the Spanish eIDAS node, as well as they will be aligned with the eIDAS Regulation. In this framework, they have analysed in the concluded stage of the Action the legal and technical needs to soundly update their systems, also paying attention to the requirements set in the European-set regulation.
The benefits of this analysis will be reflected as citizens from other EU countries will also be able to use, if needed, the Spanish platforms, enhancing cross-border connections, and promoting the unification of procedures for all European citizens that require them.
